SERVICE’S VALUE AND MISSION:

Founded in 1990, the Community SAMAN "Le Muraglie" is operative in Ferrara territory on the rehabilitation and social reintegration of people with problems related to addiction. During these years through an analysis on the “drug" phenomenon and relative therapeutic requirements, an assessment was made to offer a service that could take into account the real needs of the people who asks for help. Therefore we presently propose a space inside which the person can feel welcome without rigid bonds linked with the permanency period and entry modality.

The service is addressed to those, without race or sex distinction, that live a situation of uneasiness due to drug and alcohol abuse, and with associated psychological problems; people in multi-treatment, in reducing substitute treatment, with alternative measures to prison and foreigners with permit of stay.

The main objectives are resumed in the following points:

• Person’s reactivation;
• Psychophysical recovery;
• Adaptation to the daily life rhythm (sleep-wake up, eating regularity , personal and food hygiene);
• Psychological compensation;
• Psychotherapeutic analysis and support;
• Re-qualification of planning area;

The activity of Residential Community "Saman - Le Muraglie" is oriented to take in charge ,treatment and reintegration of people with pathologic addiction problems, psychotropic substances abuse and associated psychological disturbances.

This structure is included in a national circuit of therapeutic communities, receiving centres and semi-residential centres that guarantee an integrated and continuous take in charge of the people sent.
